Prof. Ayal Kimhi

Ayal Kimhi is Sir Henry d'Avigdor Goldsmid Chair in Agricultural Economics at the Hebrew University. He also serves as Vice President and head of research at the Shoresh Institution for Socioeconomic Research. He previously served as Deputy Director of the Taub Center for Social Policy Studies in Israel and as Director of Research at the Center for Agricultural Economic Research. He has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago (1991), and has held visiting positions at the Universities of Maryland, Yale, Pennsylvania, Nagoya, Leuven, Sydney and at the Paris School of Economics. He published more than 50 articles in refereed academic journals, including Food Policy, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Journal of Development Economics, and The Econometrics Journal. His research spans the fields of Labor Economics, Family Economics, Applied Econometrics, Agricultural Economics, and Development Economics. He currently works on income inequality, labor market policy, intergenerational mobility, education and fertility, old-age security, and structural changes in agriculture.
