Dr. Shira Bukchin-Peles

Dr. Shira Bukchin-Peles engages in interdisciplinary research focusing on sustainable development, particularly emphasizing food security and agriculture. Her investigations span technological, behavioral, social, and educational perspectives, incorporating significant empirical components and applied aspects. A substantial portion of Dr. Bukchin-Peles's research is dedicated to the developing world. She has led various field studies in countries such as Senegal, Nepal, and Ethiopia. Heading the Behavioral Sustainable Development Lab at HUJI, Dr. Bukchin-Peles and her team conduct integrative research, specifically understanding and promoting the connections between human well-being and sustainable development.
